Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you for your interest in our volunteer program. The Humane Society of Weld County offers a wide variety of opportunities that are designed to be both fun and rewarding. As a non-profit organization our volunteers are vital to the success of our daily operations. We depend on your generous donation of time and talent to provide quality care for our animals.
Our Volunteer Opportunities (Ten Team Program) :
- Animal Care Assistant: Assure kennel/shelter environment is clean and comfortable for the animals. Socialize, groom and exercise adoptable animals.
- Matchmaker Team: Help potential adopters identify the ideal pet to match their lifestyle. Promote a successful transition into the pet's new home. Assist with all aspects of adoptions, from visitations to post-adoption counseling.
- Animal Photography Team: Capture engaging photographs of adoptable animals to increase the number of adoptions by making them more easily browse-able online.
- Animal Enrichment Team: Provide basic behavior training for our shelter animals. Teach and reinforce positive behavior, socialize and groom shelter animals.
- Operations Team: Assist with the daily operations including data entry, directing phone calls and answering general shelter questions.
- Community Outreach: Participate in our local events, mobile adoptions and fundraisers. Promote shelter services, assist with packet assembly, marketing and phone calls for donations during our event planning.
- Lost & Found Team: Help reunite lost pets with their owners. Manage, maintain and organize the lost and found reports.
- Humane Education: Conduct shelter tours, group and school presentations to raise awareness of the Humane Society's programs. Directly support our mission to promote the humane treatment of animals through care, advocacy, and community education.
