Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are always welcome and needed at the Humane Society of Weld County. 

Volunteer opportunities include, working in the kennels, administrative support, and working on special events and fundraisers.

Some of the volunteer opportunities are:

Exercise and TLC Partner - Loving, petting and exercising the dogs/cats

Kennel Aide - Assist the staff in the daily operations of the shelter

Follow-up - Call adopters to inquire if they need additional information or assistance

Data Entry/Clerical - Process paperwork for incoming animals/Provide administrative assistance in all departments

Foster Care - Caring for sick, injured or young animals in your home.

Mobile Adoption Help - Assist with off-site adoptions on the weekends; See News & Events for upcoming events

Cleaning - Assist staff in cleaning the shelter rooms

Bather- Brush and bathe animals available for adoption

Volunteer Information Session

Volunteer Information sessions are held on the second Saturday of every month at 11 a.m. at the Humane Society Shelter. RSVP's are strongly encouraged. Sign up at the shelter during business hours. Check the Calendar for upcoming dates!

Age requirements are as follows:

18 and older - no direct supervision, one dog or cat at a time

16 to 18 - supervised by an adult over 18, who must also attend volunteer orientation and one dog or cat at a time

Volunteer T-Shirts Available

The Humane Society now has volunteer T-shirts specifically designed for our dedicated volunteers to wear while working at the shelter or at special events and mobile adoptions. Shirts cost $15 and are available from Billi Mitchell.
